Getting on the Schedule Before Everyone Else

The Spring AC Tune-Up
Louisiana’s cooling season starts early and runs late. Most Sunset homes start running their AC in March and don’t shut it off until sometime in November. That’s eight to nine months of continuous demand. A spring tune-up catches problems before they become midsummer breakdowns.
During the spring visit, our technician:
- Checks refrigerant charge and inspects for leaks
- Cleans the evaporator and condenser coils
- Tests and clears the condensate drain (critical in this humidity)
- Inspects wiring, connections, and electrical components
- Measures amp draw on the compressor and fan motors
- Tests thermostat calibration and system response
- Replaces the air filter if needed
A dirty condenser coil alone can increase your energy costs by 20 to 30 percent. A slow refrigerant leak, caught during a tune-up and repaired for a few hundred dollars, prevents the compressor failure that would cost ten times as much. These aren’t hypotheticals. We see them every season.
The Fall Heating Inspection
Our winters are short, but they’re real. A gas furnace that sat idle for nine months needs its heat exchanger inspected, its burners cleaned, and its safety controls tested before you trust it to run. A heat pump transitioning from cooling to heating mode needs its reversing valve, defrost system, and backup heat strips verified.
The fall visit covers all of this. If your system uses a gas furnace, we check for cracks in the heat exchanger (a safety issue) and test the ignition system. If you run a heat pump, we verify that the defrost cycle operates correctly and that auxiliary heat engages only when it should.
Repair Discounts and Documentation
Plan members receive discounts on any repairs identified during or between scheduled visits. If a capacitor is weakening or a contactor has developed pitting, we catch it during the tune-up and replace it at the discounted plan rate rather than the standard service call rate.
Every visit is documented in our system. That service record matters if you ever need to file a warranty claim. Most manufacturers, including Lennox®, require proof of regular professional maintenance to honor their equipment warranties. A maintenance plan creates that paper trail automatically.
