- System runs constantly but house stays cold: Your heat pump may be stuck in auxiliary mode or struggling because of dirty coils, restricted airflow, or a refrigerant issue.
- Strange smells when the heat kicks on. A brief dusty smell is normal after months of inactivity. A persistent burning smell is not. Turn the system off and call us.
- Unusual sounds: Grinding, banging, or squealing from the indoor unit usually points to a blower motor or bearing issue. Clicking from the outdoor unit could mean a failing contactor or defrost control.
- Tripped breaker. A heating system that repeatedly trips the breaker has an electrical issue that needs professional diagnosis, not a bigger breaker.
