Staying Comfortable While You Wait
For summer AC failures, open windows if outdoor temps are lower than indoor. Direct fans at people, not empty rooms. Wet a towel and drape it over the back of your neck. Move to the lowest floor. Drink water.
For heating failures during a cold snap, close off unused rooms, pile on blankets, and use an electric space heater if you have one. Never use a gas oven, propane heater, or charcoal grill indoors for warmth.
